IMN OnTrack: The Coke Dares

IMN OnTrack takes a closer look at one track a local artist has put on the web for your perusal, and give you a little history behind the music as well. We’re timing this look to coincide with that artist’s performance in the coming week, but our real goal is to get local music on your computer or portable media player. Think of this like the musical equivalent of a food court sample.

The Coke Dares whip up their particular brand of rock with rapid-fire song structure . . . make that rapid-fire songs. Their songs are frequently funny, often loud, and usually over before you can worry about either. This Bloomington trio is in the business of rock, and they don’t have time to waste. They’re already on to the next tune.

Thankfully, the band provides multiple samples of these masterful bits of rock at their website, and we recommend “Mexican Ice.” Check them out live at Punk Rock Night this Saturday at the Melody Inn.
