IMN OnTrack takes a closer look at one track a local artist has put on the web for your perusal, and give you a little history behind the music as well. We’re timing this look to coincide with that artist’s performance in the coming week, but our real goal is to get local music on your computer or portable media player. Think of this like the musical equivalent of a food court sample.
Let’s get the name out of the way first - it may be spelled Pvrenchymv, but this jumbled mass of consonants is pronounced pa-reng’-ka-ma, defined on their website as “To pour into.” We Googled it, and the only references we found were to the band, so take it as you wish. It does mean the Greencastle band has been doing a great job of getting said name out and purveying their particular band of art-metal to the masses. Their next performance is Sunday, October 28th at the Melody Inn. Show up at 8pm for the music, or arrive around 5:30 for a talk and book signing by drummer and Invisible Records owner Martin Adkins (NIN, Ministry, PiL, Pigface).
